Boyd’s information on Union troop positions helped General “Stonewall” Jackson win the Battle of Front Royal on May 23, 1862.

After the Civil War, Belle Boyd became an active theater actress. She married three times and was known for her sharp wit and sultry performances.

Of her five children, four survived.

In 1981, the Warren Heritage Society received the building as a donation and relocated it 1982.
